The ruling CPI(M) and the opposition Congress in the state have accused the BJP of using large amounts of black money in the assembly elections.
To find out the reasons for the defeat in the Kerala Assembly elections, the BJP central leadership has asked three former bureaucrats associated with the party for their views on the BJP's defeat which they have sent to the party.
According to party sources, two of the three former officers, retired Kerala cadre IPS Jacob Thomas and IAS officer CV Anand Bosene, have sent an "independent report" on problems within the party and the reasons for the April 6 assembly defeat.
Sources told PTI that he has sent an independent report on issues within the Kerala BJP, the reasons for the April 6 defeat in the polls, growing factionalism and some suggestions to improve the party's image in the state. Also, one of them in his report also suggested that the central leadership entrust the investigation of the party's defeat in the elections to a professional agency.

The CM told the House in response to the notice of adjournment by Congress MLA Shafi Parambil on the issue, “As part of the investigation of the Kodkara case, statements of 96 witnesses were recorded and at present 20 accused have been arrested and legally charged. Action is being taken."
He said that out of Rs 3.5 crore looted, Rs 1.12 crore was used to buy 347 grams of gold jewellery, mobiles and watches. At present, the police have confiscated these items and are engaged in investigation.
Giving the details of the case, Vijayan said that first a report of robbery was registered at Kozhikode police station on April 7, in which it was told that on April 3, the miscreants looted Rs 25 lakh on the Kozhikode-Kochi highway. Later, when the matter was investigated, it was found that the amount looted was not twenty five lakhs but 3.5 crores.
At the same time, it has been alleged that BJP was going to use this money for election expenses. The Chief Minister said that later as per the orders of the state police chief, a Special Investigation Team was formed under the supervision of Thrissur Range DIG and Ernakulam Crime Branch SP to investigate the matter. He said, “The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DGP) of Palakkad has been appointed as the investigating officer and the investigation is going well.
